Corequisite: EMS 118 - Basic EMT I and EMS 130 - Basic EMT Lab I

Basic EMT Clinical I is designed to provide the student with hospital and ambulance skill experience. Students will continue to acquire a working knowledge of practices and procedures in the field of emergency care, and experience with other areas of health care in other hospital and pre-hospital settings. Through hands-on training, the student will satisfactorily complete specified performance objectives.

Communicate in an effective and professional manner to patients and colleagues.
Demonstrate sound judgment, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills in the assessment of the scene, of patients, and method of care.
Exhibit proper principles of medical documentation and report writing.
Demonstrate prositive student behavior at all times while involved in clincial rotations.
Apply knowledge learned in didactic to clinical environment in the careful and safe delivery of service.
Properly follow guidance and direction of clinical preceptor in regard to patient care and equipment use.
Exhibit professional student clinical uniform procedure.
