ROB 260 - Robotic Vision Systems Offered WI Lecture- 2 Lab- 2 3 credit hrs/4 contact hrs Prerequisite: ROB 250 - Real-Time Robotic Systems with “C” or better (2.0 out of a 4.0 scale) This course covers procedures for testing, teaching, setting up, and modifying robotic vision systems commonly used in industrial automation. Students learn advanced Teach Pendant Programming to develop complex scenarios for integrating robots into industrial cells. The final project requires students to show proficiency in setting up and programming a sophisticated robotic vision scenario.
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Exhibit an understanding CERT Cart and Laser Safety.
- Explain different frames that use the robotic arm.
- Describe how the Roboguide software can be used to configure the Fanuc vision system.
- Explain basic principles behind light propagation.
- Explain basic optical elements and their functions.
- Exhibit an understanding of optical principles of reflection, refraction, diffraction, and interference.
- Explain how to set up a robotic vision system using Fanuc iR-vision 2D system.
- Demonstrate how to setup the hardware and software for Fanuc iR-Vision 2D system.
- Complete the error proofing of the Fanuc vision system under various lightning conditions.
- Set up Fanuc robotic vision system in ROBOGUIDE simulation software with proficiency.
- Set up iR-Vision 2D system with proficiency.
- Utilize iR-Vision 2D system to complete predefined tasks successfully.
