BIS 211 - Advanced Applications: Spreadsheets Offered FL Lecture- 2 Lab- 2 3 credit hrs/4 contact hrs Prerequisite: BIS 160 - Computer Applications: Microsoft Office with “C” or better (2.0 out of a 4.0 scale) This course will cover advanced topics in spreadsheet creation and manipulation to perform business applications using the MS Excel program. Advanced features will include data validation, pivot table manipulation, advanced functions (amortization, present value, and future value), linked workbooks, scenario manager, and solver. Student Learning Outcomes:
- Create, plan, and format an Excel spreadsheet to solve business application.
- Create advanced formulas manually and by using the formula function.
- Create and format charts and graphs. Apply advanced spreadsheet commands.
- Analyze spreadsheet data through solver, goal seek, data tables and scenario manager.
- Import and export data with varied sources. Demonstrate skills for Microsoft Excel certification.
- Communicate business concepts, methods, and evidence clearly in written and spoken course requirements.
- Exhibit ethical/professional behavior in and out of the classroom in attendance, conduct, assignment completion, teamwork and constructive peer feedback.
