Medical Assistant Certificate

MWTEC Program

This program is offered in partnership with Southwestern Michigan College through the Michigan Workforce Training and Education Collaborative (MWTEC) EPiC Consortium. Students will complete cognitive coursework online, and lab and clinical work at a local facility. Cohorts begin in the Fall semester; please contact a Health advisor or visit https://www.mwtec.org/med-asst-program for more information.

Due to the collaborative nature of the program, the tuition and fees for the program follow the MWTEC established tuition and fees. Rates and program cost sheets can be found here.

Prior to clinical experience in the Medical Assistant courses, a criminal background invenstigation will be required of students. Any negative factors in students’ backgrounds may limit placement in courses. Attempts will be made to adjust for this limitation, but if accommodations cannot be made, continuation in the Medical Assistant courses will not be allowed. Also, a current American Heart Association (AHA) Provider BLS card is required.
