MRI 241 - Applied Sectional Anatomy Offered SM Lecture- 3 Lab- 0 Clinical/Studio- 0 3 credit hrs/3 contact hrs This course is a study of human anatomy as seen in multiple planes. Students will review the gross anatomy of the entire body and identify anatomic structures in the axial, sagittal, coronal, and orthogonal planes. Emphasis will be applied to the appearance characteristics of each structure as seen on illustrations and photographic images correlated with magnetic resonance (MR) and computed tomography (CT).
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Identify anatomic planes and positions.
- Identify and discuss the anatomical structures as seen in multiple orthogonal planes on MRI and CT images.
- Identify the major systems of the human body and the organs associated with each system.
- Identify the major organs and vasculature of the body on MRI and CT images.
- Identify and discuss the anatomical relationship between bone, tendons, ligaments, muscles, blood vessels, and nerves.
