SURG 103 - Sterile Processing Externship (Clinicals)

This course prepares individuals to function competently as an entry-level professional in the Central Service and Sterile Processing Department within health care. This course builds on the principles and practices taught in ST-102 Sterile Processing course and includes discussion of professional work-place skills, resume writing, and interviewing skills. The course provides students with on-the-job training and hands-on practice in a hospital setting in accordance with the Certified Registered Central Service Technician exam requirements established by the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association. Students are required to successfully complete the required 400 clinical hours before the conclusion of the course.
