EGR 107 - Introduction to Engineering II

3 credit hrs/4 contact hrs
Prerequisite: EGR 106 - Introduction to Engineering I  with “C” or better (2.0 out of a 4.0 scale)
A continuation of Introduction to Engineering I.  Ethics in engineering will be covered.  Verbal communication skills will be emphasized.  Students will be introduced to solid modeling software, like Solidworks or an alternative.  Students will execute a project based on their own interests.

Student Learning Outcomes:
  • Apply computational tools to engineering problems.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data.
  • Create simulations, models, and/or prototypes that may be physical or abstract.
  • Communicate information, results, and/or recommendations in verbal and graphical formats.
  • Function effectively in a professional, collaborative environment.
  • Summarize an ethical challenge in an engineering context, assess a given response to the challenge, and contruct your own solution.
  • Apply design process to complete an engineering design project.
