DART 180 - Digital Video Editing

This course covers the fundamentals of creating and editing digital video. Topics include cinematography, editing, compression, file format, soundtracks, sound effects, and publishing.  

Student Learning Outcomes:
 

  • Identify the types of stories the film medium is most effective in telling. 

  • Articulate the evolution of film medium and how it relates to technology.   

  • Illustrate basic concepts of copyright and fair use.  

  • Create a short film that includes audio, digital video, animation and photography.   

  • Manipulate the video and sound elements of the film, including adding special effects using industry-standard software. 

  • Deliver a pitch of the film created using industry-relevant terminology.
