CIT 120 - A+ Hardware Offered FL Lecture- 2 Lab- 2 3 credit hrs/4 contact hrs Introduces skills necessary to become a computer support technician. This course covers mobile devices, networking technology, hardware, virtualization and cloud computing, and network trouble shooting. The course prepares students for the first installment of the TIA A+ certification, an industry standard for computer support technicians.
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Identify types and characteristics of PC, laptop, and mobile device components, including motherboard, CPU, memory, and storage, input, and output devices.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot peripheral devices and system components.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot print devices.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot wired and wireless LAN links and internet access devices.
- Communicate computer concepts, methods, and evidence clearly in written and spoken documents.
- Exhibit ethical/professional behavior in attendance, class conduct, assignment completion, teamwork, and constructive peer feedback.
