BUS 103 - Introduction to Customer Service

This course prepares students to apply positive customer service skills to both internal and external customers. Students will develop skills in verbal and non-verbal communication, positive attitudes, listening, professional telecommunication techniques, and conflict management.

Student Learning Outcomes:
  • Analyze various customer service career opportunities.
  • Define what it takes to provide outstanding customer service.
  • Define and explain internal and external customers.
  • Apply problem solving techniques in customer service.
  • Identify methods to incorporate motivation and leadership in the customer service function.
  • Communicate business concepts, methods, and evidence clearly in written and spoken reports.
  • Exhibit ethical/professional behavior in and out of the classroom in attendance, conduct, assignment completion, teamwork, and constructive peer feedback.
