COM 206 - Small Group Communications Offered FL, WI Lecture- 3 3 credit hrs/3 contact hrs Introduction to the theory and practice of small group communication, analysis of group interactions, and practice in developing competency as an effective small group member and potential leader. Formerly SPE 206.
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Identify, define, and effectively apply core small group concepts.
- Choose and employ appropriate listening responses.
- Choose communication behaviors, both verbal and nonverbal, which contribute to a positive communication climate.
- Engage in effective small group role performance and leadership.
- Choose appropriate method/s for conflict management.
- Monitor and evaluate your behavior as a communicator and the group’s behavior as a whole.
