ART 157 - Photography I Offered FL, WI Clinical/Studio- 6 3 credit hrs/6 contact hrs Introduction to photographic technology on a theoretical and practical level. Students will learn camera types and related equipment, exposure controls, creative controls, and beginning digital production skills. Students must provide a digital camera with manual exposure settings, possess basic computer skills, and purchase their own photographic paper.
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Software: Adobe Photoshop; ProShow Gold; Adobe Lightroom.
- Fundamental mechanical concepts of the photographic process.
- Fundamental artistic concepts of the photographic process.
- Mechanical operations of the camera.
- Mechanical operations of lenses.
- Basic lighting techniques.
- Basic graphic design.
- The development process of digital photographic media.
- The ability to see photographs and compose them.
- To provide critical analysis of photographs including their own and their peers’.
- Remedial history of the art of photography.
- To record a properly focused, exposed and composed image.
