NSC 101 - Life Science Offered FL Lecture- 3 Lab- 2 4 credit hrs/5 contact hrs Students are introduced to fundamental and relevant biological topics in a course designed for non-science majors. The lectures will cover cellular biology, genetics, anatomy, and ecology, and are meant to provide the foundation for an understanding of science necessary to navigate the modern world. Labs will focus on the exciting ways in which biological topics play a role in daily life.
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Explain the organization of life on the cellular level and the basic principles of genetics.
- Describe the basic structure and anatomy of plants and animals.
- Connect ecological principles to Earth’s ecosystems.
