MUS 115 - Guitar Class I

A beginning guitar musicianship course designed to provide a student with introductory guitar skills including cords, guitar tablature reading and beginning performance skills.

Student Learning Outcomes:

Identify musical symbols utilized most frequently.
Be able to sight read both simple rhythms and melodies
Read and play melodies chords on the guitar.
Play most major and minor patterns and blues patterns.
Understand the basic structure of Western Tonality and the Major/Minor system.
Be willing (and relatively comfortable) to use guitar skills in public performance.
