MUS 111 - Concert Choir Offered FL, WI Lab- 2 1 credit hrs/2 contact hrs An SATB ensemble for students and other community citizens which performs a variety of repertoire and at least one major choral work each semester. Course may be repeated to earn a maximum of six credits.
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Understand and be able to apply the basics of music theory and aural proficiency.
- Have a fundamental knowledge of the development of musical forms and structures.
- Have a knowledge and understanding of the historical development of music, its historical periods, genres, mediums, and composers, within their cultural context.
- Have a practical knowledge of performance practice.
- Have a knowledge of choral repertoire and technical studies in vocal music.
- Be able to work independently on a variety of musical problems by combining their capabilities in performance, aural, verbal and visual analysis, and repertoire knowledge.
