Curriculum will include experimental design, correlation and regression, probability distributions, confidence intervals, and hypothesis testing. Skills developed will include analysis and visualization of data via spreadsheets, interpretation of probabilities, and hypothesis inference techniques.
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Determine appropriate methods for collecting different types of data.
- Create and analyze statistical graphs involving different types of data.
- Calculate appropriate measures of central tendency and variation for different types of data.
- Calculate probabilities using random variables and the fundamental laws of probability.
- Construct confidence intervals for population means, proportions, and standard variations.
- Perform hypothesis testing for one and two population means, proportions, and standard variations.
- Calculate the linear regression equation and correlation coefficient for bivariate data.
- Perform a test of hypothesis on more than two means using analysis of variance.
