ECE 250 - Adm of Ely Childhood Ed Facilities

Focuses on the essential organization, planning, operations, and ongoing quality improvement of an early childcare facility. Licensing, structure, and national accreditation standards are covered. Includes discussion on professionalism, child advocacy, team building, importance of high-quality child-care education programs, and the creation and maintenance of positive working environments.

Student Learning Outcomes:
  • Appraise an early care organization framework.
  • Communicate an oral and written presentation on the analysis of planning a business while utilizing regulations, accreditation criteria and other standards of successful early care practices.
  • Assess and edit early care policies and procedures on family communication, professionalism, and the guidance of staff.
  • Complete a written assessment of leading and managing personnel successfully from initial recruitment to day-to-day operations.
  • Understand the steps necessary to create a quality early care learning environment.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of finance, budgets, and marketing in an early care facility.
  • Evaluate the implementation and the assessment tools of early care programs to include work with parents and families through community outreach.
  • Demonstrate professionalism needed to be a successful early care educator.
