CRJ 213 - Traffic Law

Prerequisite: Academy Screening
Motor Vehicle Code, as well as methods currently used in traffic control and enforcement. Students will receive Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (SFST) training, and qualifying students will receive a certificate in SFST.

Student Learning Outcomes:

Read, understand, and apply the Michigan Motor Vehicle Code, including laws of jurisdiction.
Apply key words and phrases used in motor vehicle law.
Observe and monitor, and control traffic flow on roadways.
Warn, cite, and arrest violators of motor vehicle law.
Perform Standardized Field Sobriety Testing in accordance with current law and professional standards.
