Basic course in criminal law as it applies to local and state laws. The elements of a crime will be learned.

Student Learning Outcomes:

Read, interpret, and apply Michigan laws relating to crimes against persons, property, public order, contraband, and regulatory crimes.
Apply law and procedures relating to admissions and confessions, suspect identification, arrest, search and seizure, and evidence.
Request, obtain, and execute search warrants.
Execute warrantless searches according to statutory and case law.
Apply laws relating to juvenile delinquents.
Perform court-related duties in criminal and civil cases.
