CRJ 206 - Criminal Law

Basic course in criminal law as it applies to local and state laws. The elements of a crime will be learned.

Student Learning Outcomes:
  • Read, interpret, and apply Michigan laws relating to crimes against persons, property, public order, contraband, and regulatory crimes.
  • Apply law and procedures relating to admissions and confessions, suspect identification, arrest, search and seizure, and evidence.
  • Request, obtain, and execute search warrants.
  • Execute warrantless searches according to statutory and case law.
  • Apply laws relating to juvenile delinquents.
  • Perform court-related duties in criminal and civil cases.
