COR 215 - Correctional Institution/Facilities Offered FL Lecture- 3 3 credit hrs/3 contact hrs This course will examine the purpose of prisons, treatment and rehabilitative programs, management and organization of correctional institutions, custodial care, safety and security, and prisoner rights.
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Define the purpose and objectives of correctional institutions.
- Describe the management and organization of correctional institutions, including the roles of all employees, classifications and standards of custodial care.
- Identify the major concerns and procedures related to safety and security in correctional institutions, and in the transportation of prisoners.
- Apply legal and practical aspects of prisoners’ rights.
