Course offers a comprehensive introduction to fundamental network concepts. Lectures on networking technologies will be reinforced through hands-on lab work, in which the configuration, management, and troubleshooting of common wired and wireless network devices will be demonstrated. Students will develop an understanding of the protocols and standards that networks rely on for functionality. Also included are emerging technologies such as unified communications, mobile, cloud, and virtualization technologies. The course prepares students for the Comp TIA Network+ certification.

Setup and configure network equipment including switches and routers.
Setup and configure a Windows domain and Active Directory.
Configure and maintain file sharing.
Utilize disaster prevention and recovery techniques.
Troubleshoot network connectivity issues.
Configure remote connectivity.
Set up, configure, and troubleshoot wireless networking.
Utilize virtualization technologies.
Communicate computer concepts, methods, and evidence clearly in written and spoken documents.
