CIT 130 - Introduction to Data Base Management Offered FL Lecture- 3 3 credit hrs/3 contact hrs Data bases and their applications. Concepts in data modeling, data base design, the implementation of the relational model, and multi‐user data base processing will be covered. The SQL data base language will be introduced.
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Create, update, and modify data bases using Structured Query Language (SQL).
- Normalize data to remove data redundancy.
- Explain the concept of data base security and how it is implemented.
- Perform queries of databases to retrieve information.
- Use different Data Base Management Systems (DBMS) to access and manage databases.
- Communicate computer concepts, methods, and evidence clearly in written and spoken documents.
- Exhibit ethical/professional behavior in attendance, class conduct, assignment completion, teamwork and constructive peer feedback.
