BUS 112 - Business Law Offered FL, WI Lecture- 3 3 credit hrs/3 contact hrs Principles and philosophy of law with an introduction to our legal system. Practical application of legal principles to matters of contracts, sales, and commercial paper. Legal aspects of personal and real property, including deeds, leases, and tenant‐landlord relationships. Business relationships and the legal principles of agency, partnerships, and corporations. An overview of negotiable instruments, employment, and equal employment opportunity law.
Student Learning Outcomes: Describe and compare business organizations, secured transactions, real and personal property, government regulation of business and estates, wills, and trusts.
Demonstrate the ability to apply an informed understanding of the law and social responsibility to individual, organizational, and social issues.
Communicate understanding and application of legal and ethical concepts in a variety of formats.
Demonstrate the ability to weigh evidence, tolerate ambiguity, act ethically, and recognize and understand the complexity of individual and societal diversity.
Analyze the legal and ethical environment affecting business such as business regulations, torts and crimes, contracts, liability, corporations, partnerships, and other business entities.
