BIO 122 - General Biology I Offered FL Lecture- 3 Lab- 2 4 credit hrs/5 contact hrs Science majors course in which students will explore cellular biology, anatomy, and ecology. Laboratory work will expose students to both light and fluorescent microscopy, basic biochemistry, and animal physiology through dissections.
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Discuss the structure and function of a cell.
- Explain the ways cells are studied and utilized in biological models.
- Illustrate the composition of a mammalian organism.
- Demonstrate how biotic and abiotic factors combine to create ecosystems.
- Develop written and oral communication of scientific topics.
- Utilize the scientific method through hands-on laboratory exercises.
