Law Enforcement Certificate

Students who already hold at least an Associate’s degree upon entering the Academy courses may be eligible for a Law Enforcement Certificate. A grade of “C” (2.0) in each of the Criminal Justice courses is required for the Certificate.
Students must meet all state standards for pre‐service police training to beginning the Certificate courses, and they must meet additional requirements prior to being licensed as a police offer in Michigan.
All students must hold an Associate’s degree or higher upon completion of the academy courses to be eligible for police licensure.
Gainful Employment Disclosure
West Shore Community College has elected to opt in to the early rescission of the Gainful Employment regulations, as permitted by the US Department of Education.
