Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist

Eligible students must posses at least an Associate’s Degree as a Radiologic Technologist and have earned an ARRT certification. This program is offered in collaboration with other Michigan community colleges through the Michigan Workforce Training and Edcuation Collaborative (MWTEC). Didactic coursework is completed online, and clinical coursework is completed at a facility local to the student.
The Computed Tomography (CT) Program prepares students on the use of computed tomography equipment to produce cross sectional images of patient’s internal organs and tissues, to correctly interpret a provider’s CT order, to administer contrast agents as ordered, and to position the patient so precise images are captured to aid in the diagnosis of medical conditions. Prepares student to sit for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART-CT) exam.

Prior to acceptance into the CT program, a criminal background investigation will be required of students. Students who have a misdemeanor or felony conviction will also be required to submit a pre-application to the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) to determine eligibility to complete the ARRT certification exam earning nationally recognized professional credentials. For more information, visit the ARRT website. Also, a current American Heart Association (AHA) Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) card is required before attending any clinical placement. All courses must be completed with a “C” or better.
