Medical Assistant Certificate


Michigan Workforce Training and Education Collaborative (MWTEC) Program

This program is offered in partnership with Southwestern Michigan College through the Michigan Workforce Training and Education Collaborative (MWTEC). Students will complete cognitive coursework online, and lab and clinical work at a local facility. Prior to clinical experience in the Medical Assistant courses, a criminal background invenstigation will be required of students. Any negative factors in students’ backgrounds may limit placement in courses. Attempts will be made to adjust for this limitation, but if accommodations cannot be made, continuation in the Medical Assistant courses will not be allowed. Also, a current American Heart Association (AHA) Provider BLS card is required.
