Medical Assistant Certificate

MCO EPiC Collaborative Program

This program is offered in partnership with Southwestern Michigan College through the Michigan Colleges Online (MCO) EPiC Consortium. Students will complete cognitive coursework online, and lab and clinical work at a local facility. Cohorts begin in the Fall semester; please contact a Health advisor for more information!

  • MEDA 251 Medical Assistant Seminar 1 credit hr

Certificate Total: 36 Credit Hrs | 40 Contact Hrs

Prior to clinical experience in the Medical Assistant courses, a criminal background invenstigation will be required of students. Any negative factors in students’ backgrounds may limit placement in courses. Attempts will be made to adjust for this limitation, but if accommodations cannot be made, continuation in the Medical Assistant courses will not be allowed. Also, a current American Heart Association (AHA) Provider BLS card is required.
