Arts & Humanities include the literary, performing, and visual arts and the humanities. Studies in this area are diverse and wide ranging, and include painting, pottery, design, digital media, film, animation, entertainment, music, dance, theater, poetry, fiction, and philosophy, among others. These fields emphasize critical thinking, design thinking, creativity, imagination, production and performance, and help cultivate a lifelong engagement with arts and philosophy. Courses within these fields provide a major portion of the General Education requirements and transfer well to other colleges and universities.

Students specifically interested in one of the degree or transfer programs should follow the guide for that program. Students who are unsure of their specific program or who are pursuing a field not directly offered at West Shore should begin with the WSCC Degree Pathway - Arts & Humanities, which leads to a general Associate of Arts degree. Students are encouraged to check in with their advisor and faculty regularly to discuss their particular program.
