This course prepares students for taking the exam to become a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS). Students will practice exam questions and calculations as part of a review and certification preparation.
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Describe proper techniques and protocols for pre- and post- procedural activities in regards to the cardiovascular technologist role.
- Describe proper techniques and protocols for performing diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures as it relates to electrophysiology and interventional cardiology.
- Dictate proper procedures and protocols in response to emergency situations in the cardiac catheterization lab setting
- Students will be able to demonstrate and apply the knowledge gained from clinical experience and coursework throughout the Cardiovascular Technologist program in order to pass the exam to become a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS).
