Prerequisite: Acceptance into the CVT Program.
Corequisite:

This course prepares students for taking the exam to become a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS). Students will practice exam questions and calculations as part of a review and certification preparation.

Student Learning Outcomes:

Describe proper techniques and protocols for pre- and post- procedural activities in regards to the cardiovascular technologist role.
Describe proper techniques and protocols for performing diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures as it relates to electrophysiology and interventional cardiology.
Dictate proper procedures and protocols in response to emergency situations in the cardiac catheterization lab setting
Students will be able to demonstrate and apply the knowledge gained from clinical experience and coursework throughout the Cardiovascular Technologist program in order to pass the exam to become a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS).
