This course introduces students to the fundamentals of macroeconomics. Students examine a variety of topics, including the determinants of aggregate demand and aggregate supply, the roles of fiscal and monetary policy in stabilizing the economy, and the banking system.
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Explain core macroeconomic indicators and their significance.
- Apply macroeconomic models to analyze the economy.
- Evaluate fiscal and monetary policy tools and their impacts.
- Understand the role of financial institutions and the money supply.
- Analyze how trade, foreign investment, and exchange rates influence national output, inflation, employment, and policy decisions in an open economy.
