CHM 123 - General Chemistry II

Prerequisite: CHM 122 - General Chemistry I with “C” or better (2.0 out of a 4.0 scale)
Continuation of CHM 122. Covers bonding theory, solutions, kinetics, equilibrium, thermodynamics, acids and bases, electrochemistry and nuclear chemistry.

Student Learning Outcomes:

Gain competency in using general chemistry concepts and problem solving skills.
Analyze experimental results to determine rates of reactions and predict reaction mechanisms.
Determine intermolecular properties, molecular trends and colligative properties.
Determine chemical equilibrium relationships and changing reaction conditions.
Examine chemical principles of acids and bases, thermodynamics and electrochemistry.
Collaboratively and safely perform laboratory procedures including proper use of instrumentation in the taking of quantitative and qualitative measurements.
