ANT 114 - Native Peoples of North America Offered as needed Lecture- 3 3 credit hrs/3 contact hrs This course explores the rich cultural diversity, histories, and contemporary experiences of Native American peoples across North America.
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Describe the archaeological evidence for the early peopling of North America
- Recognize the cultural and linguistic diversity of Native American societies
- Discuss the effects of European contact and colonization on Native communities
- Assess the role of expressive culture and identity in Native American life
- Explain some of the contemporary issues facing Native American communities
