SOC 171 - Introduction to Sociology Offered FL, WI, SM Lecture- 3 3 credit hrs/3 contact hrs Sociology is the scientific study of society. In this survey course, students will learn about sociology’s major theoretical perspectives, concepts, and methods.
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Identify and explain key concepts, trends, and theories related to the sociological study of society.
- Express ideas in written and oral communication effectively.
- Identify how concepts in this course are present in and relevant to their personal, social, and work lives.
- Connect ideas learned in the course to each other.
