Sociology is the scientific study of society. In this survey course, students will learn about sociology’s major theoretical perspectives, concepts, and methods.

Student Learning Outcomes:
  • Identify and explain key concepts, trends, and theories related to the sociological study of society.
  • Express ideas in written and oral communication effectively.
  • Identify how concepts in this course are present in and relevant to their personal, social, and work lives.
  • Connect ideas learned in the course to each other.
