NUR 261 - Med Surgical Nursing III Clinical

Prerequisite: Successful completion of NUR 240 /NUR 241  
Corequisite: NUR 260  

Study of the needs and care of acutely and chronically ill medical and surgical patients as well as critically ill patients. The focus will be on assessment, interventions, and patient teaching. Clinical application includes leadership, organization of a team, medication administration, assessment, interventions, and evaluation of care.

Student Learning Outcomes:
  • Advocate for patients and families in ways that promote their self-determination, integrity, and ongoing growth as human beings.
  • Evaluate judgements in practice, substantiated with evidence, that integrate nursing science in the provision of safe quality care and promote the health of patients within a family and community context.
