NUR 260 - Medical Surgical Nursing III Theory Offered WI Lecture- 3 3 credit hrs/3 contact hrs Prerequisite: Successful completion of NUR 240 /NUR 241 Corequisite: NUR 261
Study of the needs and care of acutely and chronically ill medical and surgical patients as well as critically ill patients. The focus will be on assessment, interventions, and patient teaching. Clinical application includes leadership, organization of a team, medication administration, assessment, interventions, and evaluation of care.
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Design safe patient-centered nursing care for patients with various health conditions.
- Critique evidence from current research into the provision of nursing care for all patients.
- Manage quality care in a way that enhances the unique identity of each patient.
- Assess one’s personal characteristics as a professional nurse that will help to achieve quality patient care for all patients.
