This introductory course is designed for any student interested in acquiring personal finance skills for individuals and/or families. It will provide students with a basic knowledge of how various economic and financial principles may be used to manage income, build and protect assets, reduce expenses, and make sound investments to meet future needs and goals. Topics supporting those concepts include budgets, income taxes, checking and savings accounts, credit options, making major purchases, managing risk, investment options, and retirement planning.
