This progam is pending approval by the Department of Education, and is therefore not yet a Financial Aid eligible program.
The Paramedic program offers an exciting and challenging health care career for individuals interested in providing emergency care in the pre-hospital or hospital emergency department setting. EMT personnel are employed in ambulance services, police departments, fire departments, medical centers, and industry. Positions for EMT personnel should remain consistent due to the rising population of older persons, the segment of the population with the greatest frequency of health care needs. Prior to clinical experience, a criminal background investigation will be required of students. Any negative factors in a student’s background may limit placement in one or more agencies.

Gainful Employment Disclosure
The Department of Education passed an initiative designed to protect students from taking on unsustainable debt in order to pay for their education. The data is provided for students of WSCC so students can make an informed choice about a program and the potential for gainful employment of that program. For WSCC, these are programs that are less than an associate’s degree. Click here to view the Paramedic Gainful Employment information.
