This program is designed to train individuals to become an emergency dispatcher. Students completing this certificate are trained and credentialed to work as 911 operators/dispatchers, with additional employment opportunities in areas such as ambulance, trucking, OnStar, 211/411 services, Poison Control, taxi services, or TDD. Students must have a high school diploma or GED, pass a criminal background check, have a valid operator license, and test into  ENG 111 - English Composition I

Gainful Employment Disclosure

The Department of Education passed an initiative designed to protect students from taking on unsustainable debt in order to pay for their education. The data is provided for students of WSCC so students can make an informed choice about a program and the potential for gainful employment of that program. For WSCC, these are programs that are less than an associate’s degree. Click here to view Emergency Telecommunicator Gainful Employment information.
