Students who already hold at least an Associate’s degree upon entering the Academy courses may be eligible for a Law Enforcement Certificate. A grade of “C” (2.0) in each of the Criminal Justice courses is required for the Certificate.
Students must meet all state standards for pre‐service police training to beginning the Certificate courses, and they must meet additional requirements prior to being licensed as a police offer in Michigan.
All students must hold an Associate’s degree or higher upon completion of the academy courses to be eligible for police licensure.
Gainful Employment Disclosure
The Department of Education passed an initiative designed to protect students from taking on unsustainable debt in order to pay for their education. The data is provided for students of WSCC so students can make an informed choice about a program and the potential for gainful employment of that program. For WSCC, these are programs that are less than an associate’s degree. Click here to view Criminal Justice Gainful Employment information.
